MORE About Tiina Laakkonen:
Tiina Laakonen grew up in Southern Finland before moving to Paris in her teens where she worked as a model and studied fashion design at the famed Chambre Syndicale de la Couture. Upon graduation, Tiina began working at Chanel as design assistant to Karl Lagerfeld and later worked as the accessories designer at Lanvin before transitioning into a career as a stylist. Her first position was a seven-year stint as a fashion editor at British Vogue. Today, Tiina is a contributor to magazines such as T the New York Times Style Magazine, China Vogue, Vogue Nippon and WSJ Magazine. She has consulted for designers such as Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Emilio Pucci, Thakoon, Bottega Veneta, Bill Blass, Prabal Gurung and Rachel Roy. Tiina has also worked with celebrities such as Penélope Cruz, Taylor Swift, Natalie Portman, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson, Rachel McAdams, Freida Pinto and Carey Mulligan. Tiina is opening her first home furnishings store in Amagansett this summer called “Tiina the Store.”
